Education: B.A. in Elementary Education, Guilford College; B.S. in Psychology, Guilford College

As Meg begins her sixteenth year at NGFS, she is excited to meet the new third graders as they join her class for the first time. Speaking from many years of experience, Meg knows that her class will grow into a “close-knit supportive community that encourages us all to continuously grow as teachers and learners.”

Meg can attest that working at New Garden affords many unique opportunities for teachers. Meg says, “I enjoy the close relationships develop with students and families. I also enjoy team teaching together with colleagues who I greatly admire and respect as teachers and friends.”

For approximately thirteen years, Meg has led a community service group of first, second, third, and fourth graders called “Books from Birth” that provides new mothers with reading materials to share with their children to encourage early literacy.

Meg’s hobbies include going for walks, cooking, and watching movies. She also enjoys going to the beach. Meg loves to spend time with her family, which includes her husband, Paul, her two children, Maggie and Anthony, two cats, and two dogs.
