Mark started teaching at NGFS in 2013, including Middle School and Upper School music classes, and after-school guitar and piano lessons. Mark has been teaching guitar and piano lessons for over fifteen years. Mark currently teaches music composition at Guilford College as an adjunct.
Mark is a lifelong learner. He was a geography bee champion in middle school and has continued his commitment to education by learning everything he can about world history, astronomy, and biology. He also reads and speaks Spanish and some German and is currently teaching himself French and Indonesian. Mark enjoys cooking, hiking, reading, and travelling.
"A revolution can come just in small increments, if you hear something wonderful, or meet someone, or something wonderful or beautiful happens to you, and the next morning you wake up and your point of view is just slightly changed by maybe one degree... that one degree can affect everything from then on." - David Byrne
