Kim L. Freedman is Head of School at New Garden Friends School. Kim came to NGFS as a parent 16 years ago. She served as the Director of Admissions and Enrollment for three years before becoming Head of School in January 2017. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Sarah Lawrence College, and has completed postgraduate work at Hunter College, City University of New York and Kenan Flagler School of Business, UNC Chapel Hill.

“In this community, we put students and families at the core of our work and we live by the same values that we teach our children. It is invigorating to be around professionals who put extraordinary care into educating and caring for students,” she says.

Prior to working at NGFS, Kim worked with foundations and community leaders to found a summer treatment program for children with ADHD. Now as Head of School at NGFS, she is honored to serve in this role in a place she has come to cherish over the years. Outside of school, Kim enjoys attending theater and dance performances and spending time with her husband, Don, two sons, Charlie and Jack, and their dog, Louie.
