Education: B.A., University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

After eight years at the school, Cory still enjoys how “the teachers, students and families are all part of one community.” As the new school year begins, she is especially excited about a variety of new ideas to help her students in math.

Before coming to NGFS, Cory had several years of teaching experience. She has worked as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher in Durham Public Schools and as a 1st grade teacher in Winston-Salem Public Schools. Before becoming the Math Specialist, Cory was a long-term substitute teacher as well as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher at New Garden.

In her free time, Cory enjoys gardening, cooking, and music. She and her husband, Brian, have three children: Kate, Anna, and Grant.
